Deep tissue massage

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue to reach the deep sections of thick muscles, specifically the individual muscle fibres.

It helps to loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. Beneficial for many physical problems, including sports injuries and chronic pain.

Lymphatic drainage

Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle whole body treatment that relaxes the nervous system and aids the body’s immune system. It is highly recommended for those prone to and recovering from sore throats, colds, infections, on-going tiredness, excess fluids, low immunity, swollen node and also for the physically inactive.

Pregnancy massage

Pregnancy massage combines Swedish and Remedial Massage techniques to assist with the tensions and pains experienced during pregnancy. In addition to the nurturing and emotional support provided by the practitioner massage reduces peripheral swelling, soothes the nervous system, helps to prevent insomnia, muscle cramps and back pain often caused by the extra weight and shift in the centre of gravity.

Once the pregnancy is advanced massage may be performed lying on the side.

Regular massage throughout the pregnancy is said to shorten labor time and the return to optimal fitness after birth.

Reflexology massage

This is a delightful hand and/or foot treatment that incorporates the reflex points that mirror the body’s key systems. This ancient healing art brings soothing relief to the feet and relaxes the whole body.

Remedial massage therapy

Remedial massage is a holistic treatment (that is a treatment for the whole of the body as well as the symptomatic area being treated). The primary aim of Remedial massage is to locate the cause of the disorder, not only the symptoms. A treatment can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow.

Swedish / relaxation massage

Swedish massage consists of long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration and shaking motions that apply pressure between muscles and bones. Swedish massage feels good, is relaxing and invigorating.

Trigger point therapy

Trigger points are areas of hyperirritability in the soft tissue. These can be acute sources of pain or latent, unnoticed by the client until pressure is applied by the practitioner.

Treatment consists of physical therapy, manipulation and stretching. Points causing pain and restricted movement may often be located in places different to where the client actually feels the pain.

Yoga Breath Work

Learn a variety of yogic breathing techniques that help calm the mind, improve lung function and detoxify the body.  Of great benefit to people wanting to reduce stress, improve concentration and aid sleep.
