Pregnancy massage
Pregnancy massage combines Swedish and Remedial Massage techniques to assist with the tensions and pains experienced during pregnancy. In addition to the nurturing and emotional support provided by the practitioner massage reduces peripheral swelling, soothes the nervous system, helps to prevent insomnia, muscle cramps and back pain often caused by the extra weight and shift in the centre of gravity.
Once the pregnancy is advanced massage may be performed lying on the side.
Regular massage throughout the pregnancy is said to shorten labor time and the return to optimal fitness after birth.

Remedial massage therapy
Remedial massage is a holistic treatment (that is a treatment for the whole of the body as well as the symptomatic area being treated). The primary aim of Remedial massage is to locate the cause of the disorder, not only the symptoms. A treatment can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow.
Swedish / relaxation massage
Swedish massage consists of long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration and shaking motions that apply pressure between muscles and bones. Swedish massage feels good, is relaxing and invigorating.
Trigger point therapy
Trigger points are areas of hyperirritability in the soft tissue. These can be acute sources of pain or latent, unnoticed by the client until pressure is applied by the practitioner.
Treatment consists of physical therapy, manipulation and stretching. Points causing pain and restricted movement may often be located in places different to where the client actually feels the pain.
